Celeste Johnson is a native of Miami, Florida who has lived in Georgia for the past eight years. She has a BA degree in Music Education from Florida State University and has been an educator for 10 years. Currently, Celeste teaches in the Clayton County Public Schools.

Celeste is a member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, which is a public service organization. She is an active member of the Georgia Music Educators Association. She is also involved with the National Recording Academy, which sponsors the Grammy Awards.

If elected, Celeste plans to focus on education, children and family issues. She believes arts education should be part of the public school curriculum.

Celeste and her husband, Rod Johnson, have one daughter.
