Dawn Randolph entered the race for Public Service Commision to represent the western part of Georgia from Polk to Muscogee Counties and over to Henry County, where she lives with her husband, Chris Randolph, in Stockbridge.
Dawn completed an International Political Science degree from The Pennsylvania State University in 1988. She served as a congressional aide to Senator Sam Nunn in the state office handling veterans’ affairs, natural resources, small business concerns, and local governmental issues. Dawn is a lifelong learner and received a Masters Degree in Public Administration from Georgia State while working first for the American Heart Association and then the Georgia Department of Community Affairs as a Local Government Consultant.
She then moved into public policy research and advocacy.
Over the past eleven years she has assisted statewide nonprofit organizations and associations as they advocate for consumer protection, access to health care, open government, and consumer focused policies. In January of 2002, she formed her own consulting firm to assist nonprofits and associations in maximizing limited resources and advocating for their critical areas. She has successfully worked with many legislators in passing several important bills and securing funding for various programs.
Dawn is also an active mentor to young women entering the public sector through her sorority and with nonprofit organizations. She serves as the President of the House Corporation Board for the Gamma Phi Beta Chapter at the University of Georgia. Dawn supports many charitable and local organizations that focus on people with disabilities, sustainable communities, animal shelters, and the environment. She is a member of Christ the King Catholic Church.
The District: District 5 represents 19 counties; howver, this is a statewide race in which all Georgians have a vote.
